Press release date: Wednesday 27 July 2022

The Trackrod Rally Yorkshire is set to be one of the leading gravel rallies in the UK this season when it runs on 23/24 September. Once again, it will be the only rally to host the British Rally Championship, the British Historic Rally Championship and the BTRDA Rally Series.
Entries will soon open for the very popular rally, which takes competitors into the classic stages in the Yorkshire forests. Event regulations will go live on the event website on Monday 1 August and entries will open at 1900 on 5 August. The entries system will then be paused at 1200 on Sunday 7 August.
As in 2021, an entirely random draw will be used to select entries and, subject to space, the entry system will then be re-opened. Exact details of the selection process will be detailed in the event regulations.
The highly-regarded rally will again feature a compact route based in Filey and taking in all single-use stages on gravel. For the crews contesting the three major rally championships, this is the only visit of the season to the classic forest stages in the Dalby complex.
As has become tradition, the event will feature two key parts. Rally Yorkshire will run over nearly 60 stage miles and is round six of the MSUK British Rally Championship, while the Trackrod Historic Cup is round five of the Fuchs British Historic Rally Championship. The route will include one long stage in the darkness of Friday evening. On Saturday, the Trackrod Forest Stages will cover a full 45 miles as round seven of the BTRDA Rally Series.
Other championships that are part of the event are the Motorsport UK English Rally Championship, the HRCR Motoscope Northern Historic Gravel Rally Championship, the ANECCC SG Petch Stage Rally Championship, the Bowler Defender Challenge and the ANWCC Forest Rally Championship.
Rod Parkin, Trackrod Rally Yorkshire Clerk of Course said: “After the success of the 2021 event, we are retaining a similar format for 2022 and we are expecting a good response from competitors. On Friday evening, the rally will start at 7pm on Filey sea front, the Beach Road, when there will be an opportunity for spectators to meet the crews and see the cars at close hand.”
