Entries set to open for 2021 Trackrod Rally Yorkshire

Entries for the 2021 Trackrod Rally Yorkshire (24/25 September) will open at 1900hrs on Friday (6 August) and the event organisers have confirmed an entry process that will not favour entries placed within minutes of entries opening.

Instead, the entry portal will remain open until 1200hrs on Sunday (8 August) for fully completed entries to be made on-line. At that point, no payment will be required. When the entry portal closes, the organisers will randomly select 150 entries. Those 150 competitors will then be e-mailed to acknowledge their entry and to request full payment by 1900hrs on Friday 13 August. In addition, the organisers will reserve 30 places to be awarded at their discretion.

The revised process is being implemented in light of the overwhelming demand for entries on recent rallies and is intended to avoid the ‘fastest finger first’ scenario and also help those with work patterns that may prevent them going on-line when entries open.

Regulations are now available for viewing ahead of entries opening on Friday at 1900hrs. Please visit: www.rallyyorkshire.co.uk

The two-day event will be the fourth round of the Motorsport UK British Rally Championship as well as a round of the Fuchs British Historic Rally Championship and the BTRDA Rally Series and will be used to test Forestry England’s capacity for re-starting large scale events. Rally Yorkshire includes stages on the Friday evening for the BRC and historic competitors with a total of 57 miles of stages. The BTRDA contenders will cover 45 miles on Saturday and all stages will be single use.

The organisers are now recruiting marshals for the event and have a wide variety of posts to fill. Anyone interested in helping out is asked to contact Richard Webster via marshals@rallyyorkshire.co.uk

Rod Parkin, Trackrod Rally Yorkshire Clerk of Course, said: “We are pleased to confirm our new arrangement for receiving and selecting entries, which we believe is a fairer process. We are expecting a very strong demand for entries and hope to have a capacity field of 180 cars in September.”
